The traditional product development cycle, the stage-gate model, embraces the conception, generation, analysis, development, testing, marketing, and commercialization of new products or services. Alternative models of new product development fall into two broad categories: accelerating time to market models and integrated implementation models. These strive to achieve both flexibility and acceleration of development.
